Relax Prescription

A friend sent me the link earlier this afternoon and very timely as I reset and re-calibrate to life post studying and prepare for a Christmas break.

Spontaneity is a theme I have covered previously and something I need to work hard at implementing given my tendency to over-plan and organise. Not done badly today with 2/3  of my very enjoyable social catch ups being spontaneous. And the other planned in less than 24 hours. Way to go Miss Anna!! Looking forward to having a good break over Christmas and time to do some more spontaneous socialising.

Doctors Orders

Having said that all need to get some presents wrapped...santa has got to get on his sleigh in the next few days. Will probably involve lots of cups of tea and mince pies but all part of the job!

The Nail Revisited

I am not sure if this made it on here the first time. It is fantastic! It actually makes me feel sorry for guys and all the emotional stuff they have to deal with from their other half.

But, what is the message here? Just listen; don't fix!!!

On The Street Where I Live

One of the reasons I love where I live is my neighbours. Neighbours becoming good friends and all...

Only where I live can you get a knock on the door, let your neighbour in, still be in PJs and they don't bat an eyelid. Equally roles reversed! Not yet walked 't corner shop in PJs but that'll be when I've been here for 20 years....

Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

Yes, now we're talking! So that's what it feels like to get a good night's sleep.

Sleep =  Energy = Oooohhhh Can I Just Go Back To Sleep?

May The Force Be With You

Borrowed a Star Wars DVD from a mate and looking forward to some veg time watching it this weekend. With a mental list of jobs as long as my arm it's not looking as likely as I hoped!

First one is sleep. And alarm turned off...too many Saturday mornings have started prematurely.

There Are Some Things Money Can't Buy

...and for everything else there's Mastercard.

Well probably got that one wrong, just as bad as my jokes which go no-where fast. But a long chat with an old girly friend who knows you through and through, loves you enough to be honest with you and who can laugh with you even at the bits that aren't really funny. Well, that's American Express.

Running Back To Base Camp

You know how it can be sometime where you feel the days of keeping short account with God are a dim and distance memory and you long for that close walk of yesterday. Subtle sin, not obvious to anyone, plugs that spontaneous relationship and easy dependence.

My prayer surely is:

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
Psalm 42 v 1

But the works bit of me kicks in...I've messed up too much...the walk back is too long. Too many careless words, thoughts and actions.

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.
Isaiah 30 v 15

Well I want all of it and smile with gratitude at the overwhelming grace of my big God. Thank-you that although we remember the birth of Jesus, that you completed the plan of sending him to die on the cross. That's why I can have a personal relationship with God, because Jesus has died for my sin.

Tune Of The Day

I cannot remember now why this song came to mind but something to do with having to be sussed and together to get to where you need to be...
