Temporary Blip

Sometimes you have just had enough. Fed up with trying, being knocked back, falling flat on your face, dealing with stuff that just goes on and on and on.

Youknowwhat?

Maybe you just gotta do da next thing and leave all da other stuff for tomorrow. Saturday night don't need the strength for Monday morning, not even Sunday. Just the strength to do the rest of what is required today. Which ain't much given it's nearly 11pm.

(no comment please on relevance of picture; if you don't get it, you don't get it!!)

David and Nick (2)

Well, it's curtains for Nick. He survives major brain surgery but comes back as a dark and moody character.

Come to think of it, more like David.

Blog inside a blog

A while ago, a few people became "multi-user" bloggers on this blog called "Sharing The Useful" which is a recipe blog.

Simple idea.....

If you have a good recipe which you think others would benefit from then you log in and post on the blog. As you can see, been a while since any entries but would be good to get going again. If you already have a login then please feel free to start posting again. If you would like to do so for the first time then message me and I'll get it set up. You don't have to be a great cook and you don't have to share that often; time to time is fine.

Slop Bucket

Various friends and family are going to be away for a few weeks and I am feeling a little bit sad. You know the ones who have a very special place in your heart; really can't bear them to be away even for a few weeks!! Having said that I know they'll have a really lovely time in their respective locations and get lots of rest and refreshment. And I'll still be here when they get back...

Sunday

Looked forward to with great anticipation:

  • Continuing with Mark; learning so much about how wonderful Jesus is.
  • Worshipping our wonderful God.
  • Enjoying spending time with friends and helping and encouraging one another.

Saturday Night TV

There really is nothing worth watching. Best I have been able to watch is open brain surgery on someone with a parasite issue in their head!

That is almost nothing....

Serendipity

I have a different name, providence. The way things work out in God's time. The way he takes care of us, especially in the difficult times. His care for his children is so particular to our specific needs; he truly is our heavenly Father. No need to fret or try to fix things ourselves.  We can entrust every detail of our life to his care. He is so good.

Time for a Sharp EXIT

This advert has  provided hours of hilarity for my family over the years!

Saturday Morning Breakfast

Alternative version to that dreadful show on BBC. Chez Miss Anna who is having a crisis with getting main food staples into the house. Not for lack of shops in the vicinity just getting that Miss Organised gene into play again. You are nearly there Missie, just give her some EXCEL spreadsheets and she'll be compiling shopping lists and menus for the next 3 months!!!

Meanwhile, this was the best that could be conjured up for breakfast in the absence of bread, crumpets or cereal (all credit to DELIA too):

Back to work blues

Holiday Fatigue syndrome

Absolutely shattered after a day of chatting,  chillin' and shopping. Back to work tomorrow for a rest!

NHS

Been forced to have a lot of contact with both primary and secondary services at periods throughout my adult life due to an enduring health problem.

And my enduring impression. Met some of the most amazing individuals working in awesome teams delivering a high quality of care constrained by one thing: lack of resources.

Out of deep waters

I reflected on part of this Psalm today as I walked across a bridge over the river with torrents of water swirling underneath as a result of the sudden and heavy downfall. "the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me." That is a picture of what it is like for every Christian before they became a Christian. They may not have been drowning in water but living their life without God they were spiritually speaking drowning and perishing. The only hope of rescue is to put all our trust in a strong and mighty savour. Only Jesus can take us from spiritual poverty and darkness and give us a new life full of light and hope in him.

I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield[b] and the horn[c] of my salvation, my stronghold.I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies. The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.In my distress I called to the Lord;  I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice;my cry came before him, into his ears.

Psalm 18 v 1-6

Holidays

Totally the best thing ever. Not enough of them, should have more of them. Think I might form a one policy party on that. Sure to get elected!

David and Nick

I am seriously worried. What is going to happen? Will it be brain damage? Or will they escape lightly with a few months in a coma? Will David and Kylie make it?

With time I will be able to justify keeping  up to date with the Corrie storyline so please don't think any the less of me...may be a while coming up with a good enough reason though!

These boots were made for walking

After walking around today in water drenched shoes Miss Anna has made a decision regarding a financial investment.
