Reluctant soundtrack

If you know the link of  this track with the location below then all I can say is you're as sad as me and I pity you as much as I pity myself!

Mobile bills

You know like when you call someone using your limited few minutes thinking it will only be a few minutes and then the gassing starts.....oh dear, 1/2 my month's allowance used in one evening!

Sublime Bach

While we're on the music theme...this just makes my heart ache with it's beauty and perfection. In the middle of the main development section (starting at 26s) the player has to cross over 3 strings in order to achieve the effect of depth of sound and illusion of more than one player. Bach stole my heart a long time through his violin sonatas and partitas and although I have played the music of a fair few composers since then they are just shallow compared to him!

Partita in E major

The D Minor although not as technically difficult is just beautiful.

Partita in D Minor

Maestro Mozart

Reminded last night of how cool he is. Pretty clever too the soloist conducting and performing. I have played in an orchestra performing a Mozart violin concerto and all I can say is you gotta count a lotta and keep your eyes fixed on the bowings of the leader!!

Mozart Piano Concerto 20

However, not everyone would be in agreement about the beauty of his compositions:

Priceless

Can't put a price on a brew, an old friend and a couple of hours to put the world to rights. Second coffee shop of the day too...something going right there!

"The list"

Using afternoon off to work through it. The, "open until 5.30pm" is refusing to answer calls due to high demand!!! Seriously non lol...

Providence

Things can turn out in such a lovely way even the tricky situations which have been committed to the Lord in prayer.

Afternoon off

Much needed; recharge batteries. ..

Hanging basket angst

One of my babies looks like she is going to seed. The rain obviously wasn't a substitute for the normal daily water dose from me. I administered 3 times the normal dose of h2o last night and there has been precipitation in the night. My little "eden" in 't back yard has given me so much pleasure this year. Next year plan to grow the bedding plants from seed. Concrete to floral tapestry!

When I grow up....

I am going to be:

In the workplace..

  • cool, calm and collected under pressure
  • a fount of knowledge and wisdom
  • always ready to drop the urgent task I am working on and go and help a colleague in need
At home...

  • the ultimate groovy chick
  • domestic goddess
  • a limitless capacity to absorb and meet the needs the others
Good job I'm not quite yet fully grown up yet. Way to go!!!

CCEF

Come to them again and again and encouraged and challenged by the way they face all the difficult issues head on with a biblical perspective. Breaks my heart that we have so little biblical counselling in this country; such a huge need. But search under any issue on this site and you'll find loads of resources (the podcasts are particularly good).

Fans of both equally but this makes me laugh so much! But how we need preachers who say it as it is....

Non Serendipity

Working my way slowly through my admin list and walking through the door at 5.55pm thought I could catch one of my victims just in time. Googled the number, dialled up and my eye cast down to the closing time...5.30pm. That one back on the list!!!!

Help required

Some of the youtube links on C&IC are no longer working. I am trying to update them but as there are a fair few in the archives I won't reach them all. If you find one that isn't working could you let me know so I can fix it? Thanks :)

Royal Baby

OK, gotta have a mention.

Really surprised to find myself overcome with emotion when Mum, Dad and Wills junior stepped out of the hospital and we saw the little dote all bundled up for the first time. Something struck me though which was poignant and in some ways a sad reflection on the state of our nation.

We see a couple, married for 2 years, committed to each other and obviously deeply in love. This child has been born into an obviously loving and stable home and will be brought up by a Mum and Dad in partnership together. Setting aside the small issue of being third in line to the throne I think it is just that which makes this such a beautiful media opportunity. What we see, as they stand next to each other holding the little bundle is a picture of marriage and the family. Something which is being more and more eroded in our nation. Why is marriage such a good thing? Because it is God's idea. One of the first things he does in Genesis is create the ordinance of marriage. So I'll leave God's word with the last say:

But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.  Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.  The man said,“This is now bone of my bones    and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’    for she was taken out of man. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Sleep tight

Why can I sleep soundly leaving all my cares and concerns with the Lord. Because he is my gracious and loving heavenly father.

Good News

When I got in from work and had made compulsory brew I braced myself for a phone call regarding an administrative issue which I thought would be painful, protracted, piercingly frustrating and leave me financially depleted.

And, found that the phone call was 2 years early and the problem I had anticipated doesn't need to be faced for another 2 years. Happily stay with the status co. God is so good down to the small details.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!!!

Still here!!!!

Had a lot going on recently and Miss Anna's addled brain not been able to process anything beyond the basics.....food, sleep, work, shopping, minimal housework, essential socialising...blogging fallen way down the list. Reaching a new level of intellectual activity so might manage the odd post here and there again...
