Miss Anna is getting ready to go out for a birthday dinner with friends.
Patience....such an easy word to hard to exercise it in practice.
It's Miss Anna's birthday today and it's a beautiful day. She's looking forward to lots of treats and surprises!

A good friend emailed me these words knowing I needed some encouragement in a time of waiting to be patient. Sorry about the delay in them getting posted. Been so busy.

Lord, we know that Thou art near us,
Though Thou seem'st to hide Thy face;
And are sure that Thou dost hear us,
Though no answer we embrace.

Not one promise shall miscarry;
Not one blessing come too late;
Though the vision long may tarry,
Give us patience, Lord, to wait!

While withholding, Thou art giving
In Thine own appointed way;
And while waiting we're receiving
Blessing suited to our day.

O the wondrous loving-kindness,
Planning, working out of sight!
Bearing with us in our blindness!
Out of darkness bringing light.

Weaving blessings out of trials;
Out of grief evolving bliss:
Answering prayer by wise denials
When Thy children ask amiss!

And when faith shall end in vision,
And when prayer is lost in praise;
Then shall love, in full fruition,
Justify Thy secret ways.

Been reading The Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges

Found this section very challenging in terms of considering how we relate to one another in interpersonal relationships in various contexts:
  • I am patient with you because I love you and want to forgive you
  • I am kind to you because I love you and want to help you
  • I do not envy you because I love you and want to help you
  • I do not envy your possessions or your gifts because I love you and want you to have the best
  • I do not boast about my attainments because I love you and want to hear about yours
  • I am not proud because I love you and want to esteem you before myself
  • I am not rude because I love you and care about your feelings
  • I am not self -seeking because I love you and want to meet your needs
  • I am not easily angered by you because I love you and want to overlook your offenses
  • I do not keep a record of your wrongs because I love you, and "love covers a multitude of sins"

Little sis getting married. Chuffed to bits when she asked big sis to be a bridesmaid...gonna be a lotta fun but not sure I'd want the job as a career!
If you went to a fitness class called "Box Fit" I guess you'd realise it was something to do with boxing? Miss Anna didn't and it took 2 weeks to recover....

Taking some time to organise my blog. Miss Anna always loves receiving feedback on "cake and ice cream." Particularly any areas for improvement....don't be afraid of being critical. I'm pretty thick skinned!

"Do not have your concert first, and then tune your instruments afterwards. Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all into harmony with Him." Hudson Taylor

Miss Anna note: the word of God and prayer is good any time of the day so if you miss the morning slot there's plenty of other slots left in the day

Whoops, a bit of blog self examination suggests rather too much use of the word "Outstanding" in recent that wouldn't have anything to do with the O***** word would it?!
Norah Jones: classic.
What a beautiful sunny, spring Sunday. After lunch an afternoon stroll is certainly in order.

Now. Let me see, where to? Such a bewildering choice of walks to choose from living in the most gorgeous city in the world (well, it's home so I'm biast I guess!). Drive out to Hest Bank and walk along the beach and absorb the stunning views across the Bay. Or to the Crook O Lune; subathe in the sun and take a stroll along the river. Or promenade around Williamson Park; quick step up to the monument at the top and take in the stunning scenary. ???
Miss Anna really enjoyed the Piers Morgan interview with Simon Cowell last night.

However, there was one rather unpleasant fly in the ointment. Was it really necessary for Simon Cowell to be questioned in such detail about the night he got news that his Dad had died? He was obviously uncomfortable about sharing such a personal and painful experience with the nation. It was a blot for me in an otherwise sparkling and enjoyable interview. His quick wit and razor sharp timing are outstanding. Definitely number one on any guest party list!
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. Genesis 2 v 1-2
On a beautiful Sunday morning here is the blog of Dan Walker who continues to live out his Christian convictions boldly by not working on Sundays.
