A very interesting (and challenging) article contrasting Mike Tyson's constant fight against fear and the love of Christ.
Thought there wasn't going to be one this week but here it is, week 6: (haven't watched it yet, saving as a treat for when I've got my marking done)
Climbed up Clougha this afternoon. Didn't start until 3pm so was an increasing race against the sun down intensified by a blood sugar low only 15 minutes after starting. No, I'm not a's just when I'm hungry...well, you don't want to see me when I'm hungry is all I can say! Beautiful view from the top....well worth the climb and soooooo glad that the dogs were all chained up which we heard barking on the way down because if they hadn't been then there would have been a few dozen cans of human dog-meat after they'd finished with us. Feel a deep mellow, tiredness after breathing in all those gallons of crisp, nearly freezing temperature air.

Alright, is this just me? Been starting to keep an eye on USA blogs of Christian housewives. Now, this is a warning. Do not do this on a day when you are feeling organisationally inadequate. What they manage to achieve is not human. They do share their struggles but then seem to have overcome them superhumanly and it just isn't always that helpful. Says her who still has an ironing pile left.......
Sudden quantity of CCEF postings is cos I've tried to break up the one package crammed into one posting.
1) Dynamics of Biblical change:

Dr. Powlison discusses his course
What it means to be a human being, a Christian. Growing up as a Christian. Life lived and struggled with, wrestled to grow and understand. What God has done in Dr P's life.
When you are afraid trust in the Lord, turn to Christ and trust him in new ways. Do you have a tendancy to trust in the Lord always except for the things which matter when you trust in yourself? Turn to the God who is with you, who cares, who will give you grace when you need it.

OK, don't use my blog for advertising as a rule but next time you're in Ambleside you need to check this place out, especially the Bath Buns (was worth enduring the parking ticket saga just to taste one of those):
Haven't got enough change to pay for parking. Fret not. You can pay using your mobile phone and your VISA card. Just make sure you have your car registration number and the registration code of the car park. 15 minutes angst against clinking some change in and pulling out the ticket!
After the last couple of days I don't want to see Pizza for a l-o-n-g  t-i-m-e.

Two quiet time questions: how and when
ouch, ouch, ouch...
Jesus came so that human beings who were stuck would not be stuck anymore. His work on the cross targets our hearts—our core desires and motivations—when our hearts change everything we do changes too.
Oh dear. Passport photo had to be done more putting it off.

Caption: WANTED dead or alive but latter not necessary because obviously the former.
Great to have a Mum on hand when you need a bit of help in a tricky situation (like mutant electricity and gas bills wot bear no resemblence to real life readings!)...
