I may have missed the warm sunshine in the morning and instead experienced the afternoon fog but I've had a really lovely day thanks to the company of some special people.
I have discovered some new blogs today........but I'm not going to tell you about them because then you might not read mine anymore!!! Nah, only joking....
http://thehomespunheart.blogspot.com/ and http://www.flylady.net/ (not really a blog but very useful for getting you life in order.....which I will do when I've got time!)
Contentment is something about the correlation between our circumstances and our desires and wants. The more positive the correlation the happier we will be. Keeping our eyes open and recognizing all the good things and daily mercies we have will help achieve this. I think it can only be achieved with God's help is that just me?
A wise friend said to me recently: "We need to be reminded daily to keep the cross ever before us. It's not about what we can do for God but what He has done for us."
I am such a reproach to the credibility of the practical, capable arm of womankind. On the plus side, I do know that my radiators need to be "bled" with a "bleeding key" because they are starting to only partially heat up. However, that is the high point. I have spent 2 hours, beavering over a hot lap top listening to a continuous gurgling noise through one of my radiators convinced that it was an advanced stage of the need for "bleeding." All ready to phone one of my DIY friends "help MissAnna in a crisis" numbers. Until I realised that I'd left the tap on upstairs....

Been following Matt Chandler's weekly blog. This is week 4:
http://fm.thevillagechurch.net/blog/pastors/?p=497

The article he refers to is found here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100131/ap_on_re/us_rel_the_pastor_s_cancer_1
I found this article in the Daily Mail newspaper in a cafe this teatime. A real feel good story, so rare in a newspaper. Has taken me ages to find it on the website!

I so want a cup of tea. First of the day. That requires me to prise myself away from my sofa and walk 10metres to the kettle. A mug of Twinings is well worth it though.
You gotta be in it to win it. So you gotta be totally focussed in the situation you're in. "In it" being here and now. The room you're in now. The place you spend your Monday to Friday's. The special people in your life. Not looking over your shoulder waiting for things to change for your perception of better. That stops you seeing what's here, right under your nose. Linked with the continuing contentment theme. Ouch, ouch, ouch.

I have 2 alternatives before me: 1) a power nap 2) a walk in the bracing cold. The latter is going to happen...brain needs reinvigorating with lots of cold oxygen (?) before it's put to use again...
Does God answer prayer about the small things which we bring before him? Yes, he does. He is so good.

Is there a way of telling Feta cheese is off before you get the food poisoning symptoms a few hours after consuming?
